A scholarship has been established by The Heart of Gold Children's Foundation and RBTL to assist a graduating senior pursuing a career in the performing arts. This award is in memory of BILL KLEIN. Bill was the Entertainment Reporter for WHAM Radio and also provided Entertainment Reports for local TV stations in the Rochester area over the years. The amount of the award is $1,000.
Eligible students must be planning to attend a 4-year college or university with a major in the performing arts.
To be considered for this award, please submit the following items by April 10, 2008:
- A letter of recommendation from your performing arts teacher and a letter from an academic teacher
- A copy of your high school transcript (must have a minimum 3.5 gpa)
- Two letters of reference outside the school and family
- An essay detailing your vision and financial need
- Performance video is encouraged
- A resume that will include all performances, names of people that you have studied with, honors and awards that you have received
- A list of the schools to which you have applied - If you have already been accepted to a school that you plan to attend, please share this information.
Should your educational plans change, this award would revert back to The Heart of Gold Children's Foundation and RBTL.

The Bill Klein Memorial Scholarship Board is comprised of persons from the Heart of Gold Children's Foundation Board and RBTL.
Five candidates will be selected to appear before the reviewing board for an interview. The scholarship recipient will be notified by mail on or before June 6, 2008.
